The Wittliff Collections Open
8:30am - 4:30pm | Alkek Library, 7th Floor
Experience the artistic process that springs from the Southwestern imagination by touring the Wittliff Collections, founded by Austin screenwriter and photographer Bill Wittliff and his wife, Sally. No ticket purchase necessary.
Glass-Bottom Boat Tours
9:30am - 5:00pm | The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment
Price: $6.00 per person by showing proof of Family Weekend participation and/or Texas State student ID card. Tickets purchased on site.
Take a tour on the glass-bottom boats and learn more about Spring Lake. Boats run every 30 minutes starting at 10:00am, and last boat departs at 4:30pm.
Float the River
10:30am - 1:00pm | Sewell Park Outdoor Center
Price: $6.00 per tube
Come tube the San Marcos River with your Bobcat on your own schedule! Tubes are available for reservation at timeslots throughout the day for you and your family! Float the San Marcos River on your own pace, and get excited to ride down the (optional) tube chutes at the end!
Note: No shuttle is provided, but there is a scenic paved riverwalk back to Sewell Park. Tubes must be returned to the Outdoor Center. Portions of this river are deep enough that standing may be difficult. Tube chutes have strong current. Participants are encouraged to know how to swim and/or wear a life jacket (provided upon request).
Flex at the Rec
12:00 pm - 11:00 pm | Student Recreation Center
Family Weekend participants may tour and work out at the Student Recreation Center. Families must register for Family Weekend. Upon arrival, entrants must be registered for Family Weekend, show their Family Weekend event Bracelet, and complete a waiver.

Price: $6.00 per tube

Welcome Hour
1:30pm - 4:00pm | LBJ Student Center, LBJ Ballroom
The official check-in for Family Weekend! You'll be welcomed to campus by university staff members, Boko the Bobcat, photo opportunities, refreshments and more. This will be a great start to your visit!
Career Services Career Closet Donations Drive
1:30pm - 4:00pm | LBJ Student Center, LBJ Ballroom
Donation Drive: In collaboration with the Office of Career Services, we are accepting professional items of clothing. It's a beautiful way for Bobcats and Families to give back to the local community! A drop-off location will be at the Family Weekend Check-in. You can meet and speak with Career Services about the impact they are making with students by helping them prepare for job searching process.
Off-Campus Living Fair
1:30pm - 4:00pm | LBJ Student Center, LBJ Grand Ballroom
Off-Campus Living Housing Fair: Come explore housing options in the San Marcos community and learn how to help your student transition from on-campus living to off-campus living. Thanks to a partnership between the City of San Marcos and Texas State Off-Campus Living, participating apartment communities have been vetted for quality and compliance. You'll also have access to valuable resources from our on campus offices.

Dean's List Recognition Event
2:00pm - 4:30pm | University Event Center
This casual come and go event honoring the Spring 2025 TXST Dean's List recipients is being conveniently held during check-in for Family Weekend, ensuring students and families kick off the exciting weekend with a bang! Students and families will get to meet their college dean, grab a selfie, and network with other Dean's List Honorees. Students will receive a unique invitation to the Dean's List Recognition at the start of the semester to RSVP for the event. For more information, visit the Academic Engagement website.
Raft Through San Marcos
3:00pm - 6:00pm | Sewell Park Outdoor Center
Price: $20.00 per person, with a capacity of 25 people
Join Outdoor Center staff members on a paddle raft trip through town on the San Marcos river! Trip is first-come, first served, or call ahead (512-245-2940) and make a reservation for you and your family!
Note: Participants must weigh at least 60 pounds. Trips start and end at the Sewell Park Outdoor Center, transportation is provided.
Climb On!
4:00pm – 9:00pm | Student Recreation Center
Family Weekend participants may receive instruction from Climbing Center staff members and climb the two 52’ climbing towers and a large bouldering area within the Student Recreation Center. No experience is needed, just a little courage! Much of the facility is dedicated to beginners. You must be registered for Family Weekend to participate.

TXST Marching Band Performance

Join us outside the JC Killam building and watch our Texas State Marching Band perform for out amazing families.

Stop by check-in to pick up your Family Weekend materials. Please bring your registration confirmation number to check-in. Check-in closes at 12:00pm; please be sure to arrive before 12:00pm.
If you ordered general admission football game tickets as an add-on to your Family Weekend Registration, you will pick up your printed football game tickets at check-in.
There will be limited amounts of Family Weekend gifts distributed first-come, first-served by sponsors including UFCU, San Marcos Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Tanger Outlets.

Family Weekend Tailgate
4:00pm - 6:00pm | Bobcat Ballpark
Optional Price: A limited number of food trucks will be on site for limited entree sales
Join us for an afternoon full of family-friendly activities and light snacks in advance of that evening's football game. Feel free to bring picnic food and enjoy meeting other Bobcat families. Upon arrival, entrants must be registered for Family Weekend, and show their Family Weekend event bracelet to enter the Family Weekend Tailgate.
Note: To provide easy access to Bobcat Ballpark for the Family Weekend Tailgate, guests may board a shuttle at the LBJ Student Center that will travel directly between the Ballpark and the LBJ Student Center on Saturday, September 20th. Signage and a volunteer will direct guests to board the shuttle for the Ballpark. Additionally, guests may enjoy the short walk from the Ballpark to UFCU Stadium if attending the football game that evening.

Texas State Football Game vs. Nicholls State

Price: Family Weekend general admission tickets may be purchased at a discount for $20.00 each at txst.com/tickets by using promo code FAMILY in the upper right corner.
Fans are encouraged to wear Maroon to the game to cheer on your Texas State Bobcats in a Sun Belt Conference match-up versus the Nicholls State Colonels. For full game day information, please visit the TXST Gameday Website.
Note: All Texas State students receive free general admission to all home athletic events with their Texas State student ID.
Stargazing
7:30pm - 9:30pm | Supple Science Building - Observatory
Stargaze with us this evening, as the observatory houses a 16-inch telescope making our galaxies visible from both near and far (provided the weather cooperates and the sky is visible). No ticket purchase necessary.

Family Weekend Brunch
