Parking and Transportation
*As you consider parking and transportation options during Family Weekend, you may wish to view the Texas State Campus Map or the Parking Map for the San Marcos campus.
Friday, October 13
Campus Parking
- Free parking is available beginning at noon Friday in surface lots and parking garages, excluding the Pay-to-Park garages.
- You do not need a parking pass on your vehicle.
- Free parking garages include Matthews Street Garage near the LBJ Student Center and Woods Street Garage.
- Please do not park in a handicapped space unless you are displaying a proper permit.
- Should you choose to park in a Pay-to-Park garage, you will be responsible for paying the fee. These Pay-to-Park garages are NOT part of the free parking during Family Weekend. Pay-to-Park garages include Edward Gary Street Garage and the LBJ Student Center Garage.
Saturday, October 14
Campus Parking
- Free parking is available all day Saturday in surface lots and parking garages, excluding the Pay-to-Park garages.
- You do not need a parking pass on your vehicle.
- Please do not park in a handicapped space unless you are displaying a proper permit.
- Matthews Street Garage is also a Game Day parking location, which is close to the Game Day Shuttle Route that runs from the LBJ Student Center for the football game.
- If Matthews Street Garage is full when you arrive, we recommend Woods Street Garage. This free parking garage is also on a Game Day Shuttle route from San Jacinto Hall.
- Should you choose to park in a Pay-to-Park garage, you will be responsible for paying the fee. These Pay-to-Park garages are NOT part of the free parking during Family Weekend. Pay-to-Park garages include Edward Gary Street Garage and the LBJ Student Center Garage.
Shuttle for Family Weekend Picnic at Sewell Park
- To provide easy access to Sewell Park for the Family Weekend Picnic, guests may board a shuttle at the LBJ Student Center that will travel directly between Sewell Park and the LBJ Student Center from 2:45pm – 5:15pm on Saturday, October 14.
- Signage and a volunteer will direct guests to board the shuttle for Sewell Park.
- Guests may re-board the shuttle at Sewell Park until 5:15pm to return to the LBJ Student Center. Alternatively, guests may walk from Sewell Park to Bobcat Stadium if attending the football game that evening.
- As a reminder, per university policy, it is prohibited for any person to consume or display alcoholic beverages within Sewell Park.
