Family Association Scholarships

Scholarships are a very important part of what the Family Association does for Texas State students. To answer the need for financial assistance for new and continuing students, the Association has established five endowed scholarships. Each year the Family Association scholarships award deserving Texas State students to help alleviate some of the costs of attendance.

Scholarship Status: Applications are now closed.

Application Deadline: Applications closed on April 1, 2023.

Students will be selected and notified in May 2023.
Funds will be applied to fall 2023 and spring 2024 bills.

Scholarship Requirements

All applications must be submitted online through the Bobcat Online Scholarship System (BOSS).

Please review the scholarship requirements below. All eligible undergraduate students are encouraged to apply.

**The online scholarship application system will only show you the scholarships you are eligible to apply for. If you do not meet any of the specific requirements such as financial need, full-time enrollment status or SAT/ACT scores, you will not see those scholarships when you click view scholarships.**

Lunelle A. Anderson Scholarship Established in 1996. It is named in honor of the founder of our organization. Entering freshmen, transfer, or currently enrolled, undergraduate students 24/1000 3.0 GPA Full-Time
Wylmette Heather Gayle Memorial Scholarship Established in 1998 following Heather’s “going home” at the early age of 22. Heather was in her junior year at Texas State pursuing a major in Marine Biology and a minor in Music. On campus, Heather was an active member of Angel Flight and sang in the choir. She was also a mentor for the YMCA and an active member of the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church in Austin. Entering freshmen, transfer, or currently enrolled, undergraduate students 24/1000 3.0 GPA Full-Time
Marian Loep Endowed Scholarship Established in 1999 and named in honor of the Association's coordinator from 1989 to 2009. In her 20 years with the Association, Mrs. Loep was instrumental in the growth and increased funding capabilities of the Family Association. Preference for this scholarship will be given to students of Family Association members. Entering freshman, transfer, or currently enrolled, undergraduate students x 2.5 GPA Full-Time
Heloise Bowles Memorial Endowed Scholarship Established in 2006 to commemorate the Association's 30th anniversary on the Texas State campus and to honor the memory of Heloise who was the Association's first honorary chairperson. Preference for this scholarship will be given to students of Family Association members. Entering freshmen, transfer, or currently enrolled, undergraduate students majoring in Mass Communication or Mathematics x 2.5 GPA Full-Time
Family Association Endowed Scholarship The Texas State Family Association has been dedicated to helping Bobcat families remain connected to their student’s university experience since 1976. Preference for this scholarship will be given to students of Family Association members. Entering freshmen, transfer, or currently enrolled undergraduate students 24/1000 3.0 GPA Full-Time

* Selection is based on high academic ability, financial need, demonstrated leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities and community service.
